Located on California's coastline between Aptos and Soquel is charming Capitola, the state’s oldest seaside resort town.

The Village area was originally founded as a resort, "Camp Capitola," in 1869 and later incorpoartate as a city in 1949. Capitola offers a quaint village feeling of a Mediterranean seaside town,while the Upper Village serves as the commercial hub of the city. Recently, Capitola was named in 'Top 20 Small Towns in the West' by Sunset Magazine as the top “ocean side view” category.

The town hosts the Begonia and Art and Wine Festivals annually on the wharf and riverside

districts.
