More About Cheryl

Ten years ago, with my younger son Ryan, I made the move from Laguna Beach, California to Santa Cruz County. We had fallen in love with the area while visiting my older son, Kasey, who was attending UCSC. Not for one moment have I regretted the move. I am continually in awe of the incredible natural beauty that we enjoy here, the bright, friendly people who inhabit the area, and the wide range of cultural, recreational and educational opportunities that exist here.

Like many real estate professionals, I became involved in real estate after successful careers in other fields. I put a teaching career on hold to address two other passions in my life – the birth of my first child, Kasey, and the opening of Mage Wind, a unique retail store in Laguna Beach, California, that carried furniture, home accessories, art and gifts. After eight years of owning and running the Mage Wind with a business partner (who was also close friend), and the birth of second son Ryan, I moved to the wholesale side of the business as a sales representative working with retail stores throughout Orange County. I spent the next sixteen years in another “relationship” business.

Why mention this career background? Developing excellent customer service skills was crucial to maintaining the relationships that are necessary in the repeat business world of sales reps, as it had been in the world of small retail store business. The core skills that are fundamental to being able to provide stellar customer service to clients - knowledge and understanding of clients’ wants, needs and concerns combined with integrity, product knowledge and attention to detail - apply to the world of real estate, another relationship business, as well. My career experiences, combined with my love of working with people and my life-long interest in turning houses into homes, have served me well in my career as a Realtor.
